I could hear the trans bearings starting to whine at 120K., 130 got worse I made it to 137 without failure, common sense and $$ fall into place.
So I go to Mini, dealer unnamed. Sounds like bearing noises from the transmission. OH Really I say to myself. How much? Gulp.
$5500 rebuilt trans, clutch package and flywheel, wow that a lot O money !!!!!

Wald Bilt Transmission shop in Oceanside CA. 1 760 722-7007 ? Yes it takes a long as parts are only available from the dealer, If you have the noise and plan on keeping the car. Order all bearings and seals now. This will take at least 2-3 weeks.
They are great guys, know their stuff and less than 1/3 of dealer pricing.
