ParticipantDo y’all just drive up the major freeways, or take scenic twisties on this trip?

KeymasterThe first overnight during the Babylon Run is Santa Cruz. I think we’ll probably be taking a more direct route in order to give people more time to enjoy Santa Cruz’s boardwalk area. Of course, people are always free to choose a different route. There are few options that would offer more twisties. Hwy 58 between I-5 and Hwy 101 is an excellent road.
Day two from Santa Cruz to Corte Madera is a nice scenic route. On Sunday, the last day, people will leave for home on their own timetable, but I’m sure most will take I-5 south on that day.

ParticipantCount us in, I just made our hotel reservations for Babylon. We’ll be staying at a Best Western in Santa Cruz instead, saving a few bucks and earning points.

ParticipantAre we leaving from the usual place in Sylmar on Thursday morning? I can’t make Eric’s map bigger to see where the starting point is and my reading glasses don’t help. Thank you!

KeymasterHi Diana,
Yes, our meet-up for the day-1 departure will be at the Denny’s in Sylmar. Plan on having lunch in Paso Robles before continuing on to Santa Cruz. Hopefully I will be able to join everyone for lunch (as long as Eric doesn’t run out of gas again).01/14/2018 at 9:33 am #18031Diana
ParticipantThanks George! Rich and I are booked.

KeymasterJust a heads up for those planning to attend Beach Blanket Babylon on Saturday, April 21. Tickets are now on sale. See link in top post of this thread. We are planning to attend the 6 p.m. showing. Ticket prices start at $30 for the Rear Balcony. We bought tickets in the Front Center Orchestra for $65.
If you missed it last year, it’s worth seeing. And if you attended last year, it’s worth seeing again, as there will be new acts in the show.

ModeratorLast year we met casually for dinner today Salitos in Sausalito on Friday night. This is on the harbor great place with open windows to the docks and harbor
I will post restaurant number later. If you are interested leave a message and we will see if we can get a couple of tables for anyone who wants to join the group. Dining around the Best Western in Corte Madera is mostly fast food unless you find a place for reservations

ModeratorSalito’s Crab House in Sausalito is a most excellent place. General dining would be about 7PM. Make your reservations for 7:00. 6.2 mi south from Best Western Inn Corte Madera, south on 101, 12 mins. No official club dinner but it was an excellent evening at Salito’s last year.
