I had time to visit the L.A. Auto Show last week and see the latest offering from MINI. While this year’s spotlight was divided between the MINI Electric (yawn) and the new John Cooper Works GP, it was clear fr […]-
Sorry, I am disappointed at the looks of the new Mini GP. I really don’t get the fender flares and the rear spoiler is a bit much. Guess I am a little too “old school” to get excited about the looks of the new GP. Having 300 HP is a nice touch, however.
-
I agree, especially on the fender flares. Whatever airflow benefit they may provide, for me is not worth the hassle they’ll create when it comes time to washing/waxing. Not to mention every time I’d walk by the car and catch my clothes on a fender flare.
-
is there a roll bar?
-
Very disappointed in the new GP. Automatic only, looks ridiculous, expensive. Very happy I purchased my 2013 GP, probably keep it forever.

How are the roads there compared to Central and Northern California? Like Highway 229 or the ones around Santa Cruz? Looks like a great party – one of these years when I can finally retire, I would like to give it a go.
-
Looks like a fantastic trip, and isn’t it a beautiful part of the country? We lived out in Knoxville for 4yrs. I spent many a weekend running ‘The Tail’ and Cherohala Skyway out there. The Devil’s Triangle just North of Oak Ridge is another incredible drive as well.
